The Jeep truck we longed for has been out for several months now and appears to be a sales success. Capable, versatile, and every bit a Jeep the Gladiator is set to dominate the mid-size market.
The question for us became how to improve on the Gladiator. The answer was to modify our existing products to make the Gladiator even more capable.
We made the move to get our Swayloc, York On Board Air and AiROCK applications installed, tested and ready for distribution.
Introducing ‘Bruce’
With the widely touted class-leading towing and payload capacity we had to make sure that going forward our products not only perform up to the standard capacity. Just like they have for the Wrangler JL, JK and TJ platforms but that our products also perform properly in extreme capacity situations.
SwayLOC
As we suspected, the JL version of our SwayLOC is a direct fit for the Gladiator. Our testing has resulted in many drivers noting that the SwayLOC delivers an improved highway ride and road feel versus the stock sway bar.
With the heavy rate ‘on-road’ bar being a torsion bar, the SwayLOC not only delivers aggressive body roll control but also allows a slight amount of energy absorption to soften the feedback from the road conditions. Thereby delivering improved operator comfort without sacrificing control.
The website has been updated to include Gladiator (JT) applications on the items that fit.
York On-Board Air Systems
With the Gladiators having a reported ‘improved cooling system’ and a few other changes on the Rubicon and Max Tow versions, we were eager to inspect and test the installation of our York On Board Compressor system.
What we found is the increases in cooling on these models were a direct carry over from the 2019 JL Rubicon’s as well. Our JL York kit is another direct fit for the Gladiator.
Our kit mounts a twin-piston 210 york, modified specifically for air use to reduce/eliminate oil output, on the front of the engine that is driven with our ‘Love Joy’ style of coupler that interfaces with the harmonic balancer.
We also offer the York Mini kit, mini only due to the reduced components in the system…(only what is needed to fill tires and fill them fast!). The mini kit comes with a manifold that is easy to mount under the hood and has a pre-made wire harness with a relay. You run one wire from the relay to the pressure switch and from there to one of the Aux switch wires. Turn the switch on and you’re ready to fill your tires at the end of the trail.
AiROCK Air Suspension
We intend to use our Gladiator to test the limits of the load-carrying and towing capacity. The AiROCK with auto-leveling and its ability to increase spring rate with heavier loads will deliver amazing results.
Our intention with the AiROCK on the Gladiator is to offer 2 kits. With the slightly taller stance of the Gladiator, and being able to run 35” tires with nearly stock suspension, we will offer a kit that delivers a near-stock on-road ride height with approximately 8-9” of travel. The main objective is to deliver the absolute lowest entry height possible.
We have gotten requests from potential customers that are looking for reduced entry height to allow them access where the stock height or slightly lifted is difficult or would not be possible.
We’re not going to state any dimensions or make any claims yet, as we are early in our testing….. but we are happy to report that this version is progressing nicely.
The second kit will be the standard AiROCK, designed to give maximum lift and clear larger tires for everyday use.
We will be pushing out the new application data to our resellers shortly. Quadratec, Northridge 4×4, Poly Performance, Extreme Terrain and many more will have the part numbers soon.
Check with your favorite supplier and if they don’t have the data yet, ask them to get with us so they can get your order!
