SwayLOC for Jeep Wrangler JL Rear. SwayLOC is the original dual-rate sway bar that provides different control rates for off-road and on-road use.
SwayLOC improves balance and control while providing full articulation during off-road use. In the rear it will deliver an aggressive anti-roll ride quality during on-road use that is far more firm than the stock sway bar. Ideal for conditions where extra weight is carried or when the suspension design results in a soft, more rolly polly feeling.
The dual rates are achieved through the use of two concentric torsion bars. SwayLOC uses a simple latching mechanism to easily change between off-road and on-road use without having to struggle with disconnect links or having to be on level ground.
The proven cam latching system guarantees that SwayLOC engages in the correct position for on-road use and disengages for off-road use when chassis flex releases pressure on the latch.
The Manual Flip a Lever version is simply that, flip the lever on the latch rearward sets the latch to disengage for low off-road resistance. Turning it off sets it to engage for high on-road resistance.
The spring in the latch allows you to select the operation by flipping the lever and the spring will pull the latch open or slide engaged when it should.
The remote-controlled version works using an air operated latch. The latch is controlled by an in-cab switch. Turning on the lighted in-cab toggle switch automatically sets the latch to disengage for low off-road resistance.
This kit will install the Torsion bars in the full width crossmember ahead of and above the rear axle. There is a few bolts that protrude into the crossmember and you will need to adjust them to clear the torsion bar. The mounts will tap into each side of the crossmember, with the outer torsion bar installed.
The mounts have grease zerks and grease is ported to the surface of the torsion bar.
The arms extend rearward and will linkage to the stock swaybar mounting on the axle. IF you have large diameter shocks, or shocks with external reservoirs attached to the body, there may be slight interference, the SwayLOC arm may be cut 1″ shorter and this will usually clear those obstructions.
If your Jeep is heavy, or have a rack on the roof, this will help drastically in controlling the body roll of the JL both on the road and off.
Notes
1. Large body diameter rear shocks or rear shocks with external reservoirs may interfere with SwayLOC arms, some trimming of the arm may be required to clear the shock.
